Hi I'm looking for a replacement flex plate (mounts between engine and torque converter)? Is it available?

Yes I do have the flexplate, I hadn't listed it as I haven't removed it yet!

How much of a rush are you in for it? I can have a go at removing it this weekend if you need it in a hurry, I just need to borrow an impact gun from someone...

OOOOFF! That's harsh mate, what the hell caused that??

 

I bought the van from my neighbour as a non starter. He had a new engine 'professionally' fitted and about 4 months later it stopped working when being tested at the mot station. They dragged it back to his house where it's stood for about 4 years. No further investigation was really undertaken until I started poking around. I found that the engine mounting bolts/nuts were all loose! This resulted in the engine hanging off of the plate at a slight angle. Having the weight of a type 4 engine bouncing on it sheared the plate. Moral of the story always check your nuts are tight!

 

Wow. I had the same thing once, it really is unbelievable the quality of work done by some supposed "vw specialist" garages, this one was in Stoke-on-Trent, I'll leave the readers to guess who it was. I've learnt that it's usually better to do things yourself when possible!

 

Knowing how loose my nuts are...you wouldn't have the front mount for the auto box would you? and the kickdown switch under the accelerator pedal?

Sorry I gave the front mount away with the gearbox I just included the mounting hardware. I can put you in touch with the guy who I sold the box to, he might be interested in selling if he doesn't need it? Sorry about that it didn't occur to me to keep it separate!

Oh and I don't have a kickdown switch, i had the 010 box which didn't have a kickdown switch.
