1600 twin port engine tins front and rear

  1. Can anybody shed some light on the difference between a 1970 bay window and 1973 as far as the engine tins are concerned. I notice that no body does the newer version but, that strangly the older versions are about £30 ish and if you get OG used ones for the 73 they are about £300??????

    They're a completely different shape.
     
  3. Is that cos the engine sits in a different position or is it the shape of the engine bay?

    Not sure about the gearbox end but the rear is completely different due to the removable rear valance shape compared to the non removable on a late.
     
  5. Basically they changed the shape of the engine bay from 1972 (crossover) so they could accommodate the larger type 4 engine...

    Type 1 tins in the works... ;)

  7. As long as the exhaust doesn't touch, then there is no bother at all :thumbsup:
