1V doesn't really surprise me, given the relatively large current it's switching. Good point about the heatsink compound - I smeared some under my Pert when I had it. I think the reason folk include 009s - mostly Bosch clones, I'd imagine - is a) so they can set the timing instead of the customer and b) to bung the dissy hole up, so folk don't turn the crank and knock lumps off the dissy driveshaft gear.
