Nice seats they look complicated.. Strange how different they look in different pictures..black then grey..
Thanks mate. Quite a lot of panels to sew up for these, the arm rest and booster seat was good fun! It’s a mid grey, the lighting in our living room is a bit hit and miss. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Onto the first interior of the year. George’s ‘71 beetle is being treated to a full interior retrim in cardinal red and white. Door cards all put together this week complete with wrinkle pockets on both doors.
Mike popped over yesterday and we both got the London taxi rear seat fitted. We’ll be doing the flip down seats for him next month to match.
George’s ‘71 beetle rear bench back from the powdercoaters and all built up today. and sunvisors and small panels to go under the seats:
Some exciting Friday updates from me today! Firstly thanks to the number of people that have shown an interest in my upholstery work over the last 12 or so months, I’m pleased to say I’ll be going down to a 4 day week in my day job to give me an extra day a week to work on your classic car upholstery jobs. Up until now everything you’ve seen has been fitted in during the evenings and weekends. And secondly our website is now up and running! A huge thank you to the ever talented David Lovell for putting this together for me, he’s done an amazing job. https://rayleyrestorations.co.uk/
Front seats for George’s ‘71 bug all finished over the weekend. These seats are out of an old Honda with a design not that dissimilar to the MX5 seats I’m fitting to our Baja.
Some more upholstery work on Mike’s London Taxi this week. I’ve reupholstered the flip down seats to match the rear seat we did for him last month. Mike and I had loads of fun removing these from his cab, resulting in us stripping down most of the rear trim to get to one awkward screw holding them on!
Choosing the right colour fabric and vinyl for your upholstery is always a tricky decision to make. When in doubt just pick them all! Here are the first few bits for @tburton100's van, with his RnR bed cushions and buddy seats upholstered in this brilliant rainbow pinstripe fabric. I’ll be doing his front seats to match.
Those seats with the rainbow colour pinstripe panels look really great, Jim. I think if and when I ever have to redo my seat covers, I will go for something patterned on the insert panels rather than plain, it just looks so good. And I will be bringing them to @JamesLey of course!
Lovely stripes. James, do you know where the material is from as it is close to what I'm looking for. Thanks
