Gates also do a fuel line called Barricade with is compatible with 85% Ethanol, Gasohol, Bio Diesel etc. no good for FI though
You can actually remove all the ethanol from petrol by adding water (yes water!)...ethanol bonds to the water molecules, and, as it's heavier than petrol, it sinks to the bottom...drain it off and you're left with E free Petrol....don't take my word for it....google
Hi, I've edited my original post (couldn't delete) as I realised I had put misleading information in there, I've ordered that much stuff for the van over the past few months (i'm doing a megasquirt conversion and converting from auto to manual) so I'd got confused! THIS is the fuel hose I've ordered and the photo below is this hose, NOT the link to the ebay item i'd originally posted. http://www.advancedfluidsolutions.c...e-rubber-fuel-injection-hose-sae-r9-628-p.asp @lhu1281 I hope this clears things up a little, sorry for the confusion. (next time I'll check my facts before posting and wasting peoples time) Cheers, Deano
its a minefield ...i want something that says fuel injection on it .....someone must sell the gates stuff
http://www.midlandvehiclecomponents.co.uk/ give these a ring, or try Steve at Autohose 01782 542 486....
Mine says fuel injection, here's a picture BTW - @vanorak is spot-on with Autohose, top guys and a great range, their "shop" is like alladins cave, I'd forgotten about those guys but I've had loads off them in the past, they do great quality interior vinyls/upholstery too edit. See my above post the stuff I originally linked to was wrong, this is what I ordered in the above photo http://www.advancedfluidsolutions.c...e-rubber-fuel-injection-hose-sae-r9-628-p.asp

Ive got new carbs on running with the supplied hose. I need to change it to better stuff before it melts!! Ive been looking at this stuff http://www.advancedfluidsolutions.co.uk/73mm-id-516-100-bio-fuel-hose-diesel--petrol-2013-p.asp Anybody any experience of it yet?
This is the hose, same grade from the same supplier that I used; it lasted about 3 years before cracks appeared in the outer casing. If you fit it inspect it regularly.
I used some of the smaller diameter 5.5mm for my stock set up a couple of months ago. It's the same stuff that VW Aircooled Works supplied to a mate with one of their kits. I later found it cheaper through Car Builder Solutions sold as 6mm ID. Hope this is of use.
well i finally have the Gates Barricade stuff 5/16 ...not the cheapest and i had to get it from the states but didnt take long and didnt get stung for import duty
Just to resurrect this thread from the dead - how did you get on with the Bio-Hose stuff @Borninabug ? I need some 7.3mm.
I didn't it's a job for winter that hasn't arrived yet. It's been too warm to stop using the bus for a bit
Coolair now sell ethanol proof fuel line http://www.coolairvw.co.uk/Item/Fea...hanol_Safe_Fuel_Hose-C-_5mm-6mm_Fittings.html
