Cheers Mike, How does that help me get the cartridge out? Presumably to do that I need to get the big brass ring out. Edit. That hex screw doesn’t seem to do anything. The square shaft is hinged at the bottom (you lift the tap for more pressure) and I can’t drift the pin out as the brass nut is in the way...
How many cups of tea have you had on this job thus far.....I'm asking as it guides the invoice process.
None! I’m losing my rag with this bloody tap though. Every video on YouTube shows the cartridge retaining NUT as a nut. This is completely round so nothing to grab hold of..
Change the tap. By the time you’ve dicked about getting the cartridge out. If you can. You could have changed the tap. Plus cartridges are far from standard. There’s different thread lengths and shaft lengths (oh er Mrs). My advice is buy a cheap tap changing box spanner set from toolstation/Screwfix and a new tap. You’ve got ballofix valves there so you can isolate and remove the tap easily.
@Baysearcher the above advice is spot on. Get one of these babies - both easy to use, low maintenance and a bit of a work out each day for the wife and kids.
and that was my advice 23 hours ago. I even gave the link for a box spanner and pipe cutter. But then I am not a plumber ... I only trained to and built ships
There's a few things I don't bother with as it's to much agro and that's one of them ,there so many variations it's more trouble than its worth,it would take me longer to do that than change the tap ,plus once the tap is done I don't get any call backs
