Interesting, it's a H reg but its a 1971 model year (so should be a 'J'?). Does it have discs on the front?
1st reg date October 1970. Doesn't this mean it was probably built after August 1970 when VW bring in the following model year?
perhaps something to do with originally being bought by a UK military person in Germany. It has discs now, even if it didn't originally Not only has @Barry Haynes seen the vehicle, but its been worked on by @brothernumberone recently?
My '71 has wide 5's though the PO fitted with them with adapters. Conceivably the same thing could have happened here.
It's definitely a 70 then according to the m-plate. Also answers my question about the reversing lights. Didn't know they were an option in Europe back then.
Did you know there is a new campsite opened up near Lathkill, its called Lathkill Wild Camping; not sure what facilities it has but it supposed to be a great little spot. Ive not seen our friends who have been yet to ask more. Theyre on Facebook under Lathkill Wild Camping.
No point going into forensic detail on these things, I have separate reversing lights and early indicators on my late '72 - because I fitted them for no other reason than I like the look!
Wish i'd known about them yesterday, as i've had my pants taken down by Lathkill Dale Campsite £30 for one night!!!!
Blimey they’ve put the prices up. I like that site, we go on top of the hill far side as it’s got good views!
I emailed and the auto reply said they were full. Then got a message saying they could fit me in £30, I just said yes as keen to get more camping in & this may be my last chance this year
