Can anyone help us with some things as you guys might know more than me 1. Inicators don't cancel when turning and I can't hear the click to turn them off 2. Engine over runs a second or so when I turn it off 3. Roof canvas is mouldy & oily so whats best to clean it 4. Accelerator pedal rubber is missing where do I get one from or a part number would be good TY
1. Canceling ring missing, broken, or slipped. 2. Fuel cutoff solenoid on carb may be sticky 3,4 don’t know, Just Kampers?
Can't find owt on JK on Heritage they have one but it's quite expensive for a bit of rubber https://www.heritagepartscentre.com/uk/211721647-accelerator-pedal-rubber.html
Expensive maybe but it must be worth it, as long as your mate is on a bike, Heritage says – ‘Long will be gone the days of foot slipping moments when you hit the accelerator to beat your mate off the line at the traffic lights.’ It’s a bit cheaper from Schofields https://www.alanhschofield.com/ourparts/prod_5551460-Rubber-Pedal-Pad-5079-211721647.html
3. Not sure if Westy roof material is the same as Devon canvas - https://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/73-devon-pop-top-refurb.87424/page-2 4. Try megabug for a second hand one. If i can find mine you can have it, but you may not want to wait as i have no idea where it might be.
PS Turning off Alpine head unit, so the lights go out, does not actually turn it off! You need to disconnect the front panel when not using the bus or it stays on 'standby' and draws loads of power. I got an Alpine remote control for my head unit from ebay. Being able to turn off the stereo from bed is great. This may not apply to all Apline head units
Thanx Paul your awesome Schofield's ain't that far so when I have a list I'll collect as they give discount for picking stuff up Yeah I'm sorry it's staying here, I've traveled to/lived in several parts of the world but never been to the Australian or south American continent. I always come back to Yorkshire, I can't put my finger on it it's like a child's comfort blanket or toy they can't bear to leave behind...
Looks great - I wish the worst of mine was a 'bad' as yours! Do you think you'll keep the stickers on it? Shame you didn't get the boomerang!
I got a remote for mine. Great, you can switch it off but not on again! So I fitted a switch I can reach from in bed. Though this switch cuts off all elec to the head unit it still remembers all it's settings. It makes me wonder why it thinks it needs a constant 12v supply.
