Just for you I got up early(you don't know what that is, so don't try and even comprehend what I just said!!lol) and gave it a quick coat. Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
More boring painting done. Rust converter first then gloss black enamel. Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
Then I straightened out the end of the mount that had been ruined by the forklift First pic is it bent 2nd pic is it straightened out, not perfect but much better than it was Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
The fuel tank n the donor was rather melty. But it was an injection tank/engine. The fuel tank I acquired from @davidoft is pickup specific but was non injection. The difference is the internal filter and mini swirl pot to stop cavitation of the fuel injection pump. So I rescued them out of the donor and amazingly it was all relatively intact. So I fitted them to the "new" tank. Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
More painting done. All the front end components are done now apart from the brake calipers and the actual Subframe Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
Chopped out this import piece. It's gives the location of the Syncro gearbox mounts. And the mounts for the prop protection bat's. Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
good to see more bits coming off ready... We’re in same boat really - found this today.. Oops picture on the side - but yup, that bit of broken plastic below the door latch plate. Means my interior lights won’t switch off automatically when the sliding door is shut. Will it never end...... STAY STRONG!
Chopped the roof off and and then the shell in half, cut out another syncro specific cross member. Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
More choppy choppy action and all thats left is the front cab portion, and a few more the cuts that may be useful for my conversion Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
Yesterday was a quick trip to see @theBusmonkey and have him top and tail the gearbox and diff, needed to know how much pain I was going to be on a scale of 1 to @Mattlad. Turns out I'm pretty jammy and a very good box and diff. no main bearing wear or pinion movement at all, everything is rock solid. Some repairs have previously been done to G gear but it's in spec. Selection issue of G gear but it was only put back together temporarily for all the seal replacement. So hopefully G gear will be OK. Front diff has been apart before to have the VC refurbed (not sure when but hopefully fairly recently!!) I think @theBusmonkey may have some more pictures Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
Get in my son - that's a wedge of cash saved. (Although from experience, the very reasonably priced and excellent gearbox issue resolution services offered by Aidan Talbot and @thebusmonkey are highly recommended)
HA - just saw the tag!!! My gearbox was a bit of a mess.... but.... Aidan sorted and its a pleasure to use now (and not as much dollar as I was fearing, dreading, finding excuses for explain to Mrs Mattlad)
