I've been a very naughty boy today

Yesterday I removed the gear selector rods and the gearbox mounts.

The we moved the whole Shell into the garage so I can make a start on stripping the front end off and then chop the shell up for disposal.

I know you bought it for the syncro bits, but was there much more that was salvageable?

 

It's fairly stripped already, but there are a few bits that are salvageable and worth a bit of money to offset a bit

Good recycling skills as well, much better for the environment than new vehicles

 

Today's update : adjusted the position of the donor in the garage and jacked it yo and removed the front Subframe frame and running gear. The stripped it all apart ready cleaning and painting.

Next to remove the top arms and then chop the required steering rack mounting dense out.

And had pulled pork with coleslaw for lunch!!

Today was no going back day, chopping off the steering rack mount which is slightly different to a 2wd.
The suspension turrets still need to be removed too but that can be tomorrow's job.

It's a messy job under the van with a grinder. It may be time to trim my beard down....

Great work again, but that beard under a mask photo is a thing of beauty!

To save cutting the beard off you could always tie it up.



Please tell me you had two sandwiches today or at least a bigger lunch.

I had 2x homemade flat bread with halloumi and homemade spicy coleslaw & I have done no where near as much 'real' work as you today.

Had a couple of days off out of the garage.

Quick tidy up tonight and moved the body cut into position ready to strip/chop/drill off the unneeded parts.

The large pile of Rust and dirt is what was left inside the chassis rails!!

Bit of work trimming down the steering rack mount today.

It's going to need a bit of remedial work. Couple of patches on the top. And a bit of straightening out of one end,where a forklift hit it I think

ive done a bit on mine

 

Tried out a bit of paint today, rust converter first then grey enamel primer. Will paint it black tomorrow
