She was actually quite grateful that one of her regulars was trying to help and turning unsellable stock into cash was great for her.

  4. So now with non essential drivingnot allowed you can't drive anywhere to do exercise like walking the dog and should stay within a mile of your house.
Normally i drive 5 minutes to the beach and if i'm really unlucky will see one or two other people from a distance. This morning i saw 18 people walking the streets round here.
The local farmer has padlocked all the gates and barbwired the stiles to stop people walking the footpaths across his land so the only real area of grass for the dogs to have a bit of off-leash exercise is the school playing field or kids playground, both of which are now covered in dog mines.

  5. If there's been a recommendation by the government that you can't drive to a park of place to walk dog/exercise I haven't seen it and I've been watching all the chronicles of Boris from day 1. I think the police, given new powers by who knows?, have taken it upon themselves to stop people and send them packing. This in itself at the moment is a good thing but knowing the police they may take this as something they can get away with for ever.

  6. It is the police who are now saying you can't use your car to go to an area to exercise.
They are saying that exercise has to be done from your home - you are not allowed to drive to another location to either exercise or walk your dog.
One force said you had to stay within 1 mile of your house too.

Traveling by car to exercise is an unnecessary journey, so they have said it, and they continue to say it. People just don’t want to hear it.

  10. On what or whose authorisation have they decided that?

  11. Living next to the beach has it's advantages but with all the people that rocked up the other day to ' exercise' or what I would call lying out in the sun meant that I had nowhere to exercise...I chose to live in a more isolated space for a reason.
I may now get slated for saying this but hey ho....

Government guidelines issued today to try and reinforce the message:

Please use the following guidance in order to stay safe:
    • stay local and use open spaces near to your home where possible – do not travel unnecessarily
    • you should only go outside alone or with members of your own household
    • keep at least 2 metres apart from anyone outside your household at all times
    • gatherings of more than two in parks or other public spaces have been banned and the police will enforce this
    • if you have a garden, make use of the space for exercise and fresh air
    • take hygiene precautions when you are outside, and wash your hands as soon as you are back indoors

  17. Unfortunately, the Government forecasts many more to come, until the situation's fully brought under control :(

  19. Just dug out mi old bike and gone for a bimble around the Richmond Park `Tamsin Trail` cycle path .
Ten minutes ride up there , a gentle 12 mile plod . Think i stayed within the law
The pedestrian gate was open but the main access gates were closed to vehicles which resulted in hundreds of cars parked down the approach road for a mile or so , and there`s 5 road gates - the park was rammed . There were a couple of police officers kicking around , probably to stop groups gathering .

Total lockdown is going to happen as these jerks don`t seem to be bothered so long as little Jessica and Ruben get some sun but don`t have to walk there , most of these pr**ks will probably have decent sized gardens as well ...

Rant over - watch this space ...

It’s a very un-Guardian picture isn’t it? :D. You almost expect a caption underneath saying “Curvy Sarah, 38, is used to getting compliments about her chest, but that chest has been getting tighter of late since this Coronavirus business kicked off. Stay well Sarah, we at the soaraway Graun would go into isolation with you anytime!”
