how is it possible that checkatrade can ring me every day and leave a message on my phone and yet my phone doesn't ring they're a real pain in the ass
I’m not available to give a witty answer to this thread at the moment, but if you’d like to leave a message, please speak after the tone. Beeeeeeeeep.
I have a landline answer phone, its brilliant. Phone rings twice, machine cuts in with standard message, they cut off. Or sometimes the scammers leave a computer message but I never pickup I delete it later. On the occasion their number is recorded, I send it to BT's nuisance calls service and they block it. The latest scammer was a number from a Scottish remote village telling me my credit card had been compromised, the caller was a recorded American accent. Their number went to BT for blocking and investigating. Of course if the call is from someone I know, they leave me a message and I call them back. Works for me.
Everyone should register their number (S) onto the telephone preference service to cut down on unsolicited calls https://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/index.html
Fecking checkatrade are a nightmare for spam calls! Second only to Camper and Bus magazine, who really don't give up easily..
You may, in the frozen north, have heard it referred to as the "jelly bone"? My Gramps used to call it that anyway
