  1. I was kind of hoping that, preferably right on a squirrel so I get a free meal out of it.!

  2. Is it off? WE MUST KNOW...

  3. Very disappointed it hasnt dropped off by itself and I haven't had a chance to go out and wrestle with it.

  4. If you mention it to the local travelling community, it will vanish overnight

  5. Very handy , they only live over the road!
It was them lots family that broke in and nicked the copper pipes from our gaff!

  6. Nicked it from Chez Wombat? Lovely. Not.

  7. Strictly speaking it's while we were buying it but yes they did.

  8. Blimey :(

  9. Picture of my hole

Yay old beams off, had to use a 6ft scaffold tube, one end wedged in the beam the other end being lifted by trolley jack

  10. Not much holding them on, is there ?

  11. Obviously I knew my old beam was crusty, that's why I'm replacing it but I'm quite shocked how bad it is. Its the stuff you can't see that you should be worried about

A lot of it is literally missing
This is just some of the rot

  12.

How did you get the van into your garden?

  13. My new beam I've degreased and I've degreased and I've degreased and then degreased a bit more.
Today I've fully degreased it @anothrr 2 times, ready to rust treat it.
But wiping a cloth over the beam I still get black residue coming off. I've already used 5litres of degreaser , scrubbing and sponging etc,
I've now wiped over with clean cloths, is any residue going to bad news for paint?

  14. Drove it.well reversed actually!
    Why?

  15. Is it grease or wax underseal they put on at the factory? Panel wipe with naptha in should shift it.

  16. Don't remember you having a gate. Thought maybe you'd taken a run at the fence ;)

  17. PS Or acetone.

  18. It had black paint, underseal and grease over it, I've taken it all back to bare metal

Where do I get panel wipes from?

Yeah I've got a double gate at the end, it's a bit stealthy though:D, I built it just big enough to fit the van thtough, about a centimetre spare on each side!

  19. Meant this kind of stuff - something with evil solvent in (usually naptha, which'll take most stuff off), not "green" stuff made from wholemeal tofu. Was the only thing that shifted greasy/waxy stuff from under my van.

Great for sniffing as well
