@pgtips I've not had experience of the rjes rad pack as making my own using the same radiator (which I'm lead to believe is a V8 Range Rover P38) I've got the same locating lugs on mine (would be the bottom of the radiator with the cranked outlet) which I'll just grind then off if they cause any obstruction, I'm wondering if they've forgotten to trim them down at RJES before sending it out to you.
Can you see the black plastic stud in the middle of the picture hitting the chassis rail, just to the right of the bolt. It's a locating stud for when it's in a proper installation
Radiator in . First time in its life it's ever had one. Wasn't a particularly difficult job but quite time consuming.
Fans not hitting the tubes, make sure the right angle hoses are fitted and nice and tight before final fitting
Think I'm all good. Still waiting for ASH to send my pipes/ hoses ( 4 weeks/) so might start wiring next.
Hi, I'm stuck on wiring, I've got an rjes loom so that's all done but I'm having probs locating my old vw wires for alternator, oil light and ignition. Should be blue, blue/black and a black but I don't have (can't find) them. Checked my Bentley and for a 75 FI the colours match so probably mine got changed/replaced. My q is where should I find these?, near old double relay which includes fuel pump or on other (right) side where the regulator/battery/starter 'bundle' comes into the engine bay. I've been under the van for a bit but nothing I can see seems to tally
Thanks, think I've just cracked it, 3 wires taken hours to trace, 40 odd years my blues are green, sprayed or black grime. Few others to trace but the main ones sorted .
finally got round today to fitting the new gearbox sump plug washer. and so far so good, no leaks or drips. need to go for a drive to warm it up and thin the oil properly to see if it still doesn't leak and then ill be happy. oil leaks also sorted now thanks to new gaskets and o rings ordered and fitted
