We have a ford main dealer round the corner. He stocks campers built on the transit custom and custom m-sport. Having seen them if I ever had a silly amount of money to spend then I wouldn't be giving it to vw for a t6.
The only reason there is a vw scene is because of the old stuff. Beetles, buses, carmans etc. I just can't see people in thirty years waving at t5 owners. Just another van. Practical. Reliable. Economical. Safe. Boring. My transit has heated seats, heated windscreen, cruise control, 6 change cd/dab. Blah blah blah. Lovely but I don't want to spend the weekend in it. Keep the bay.
Or buy a proper motorhome. Bigger, more comfortable and won't devalue as much. An older Merc Hymer would spring to mind.
The T5's don't seem to be subject to much devaluation from I can see - especially the California as you can see on their club for sale page here
they do but I was thinking about the prices for you. nothing wrong with high tops by the way, my son has a high top T25 and its great, roomy and practical.
They make sense if you are a low mile driver and buy new every other year. Can't be many 8 year old motors worth well in excess of 50% of its new value. 2009 with 35k on the clock and £31k
I know where your coming from... The amount of these things on French roads it is incredible , i am just waiting 20 years til I can afford one... The french ones will be relatively rust free...

The mileage on that seems high to me but I have always thought of anything near 100,000 miles to be high which is probably just me being stupid. Good luck with selling the Bay and hope you don't regret it!
much more to go wrong with a synchro. If you don't need 4wd then I wouldn't buy one. everything for a synchro is that bit more expensive it seems.
I've just looked at the add it's had the rear wheels syncro removed and that normally means it got fubared some time ago . So it's a non syncro/syncro lol
