Anyone tried magnet fishing?

  1. I've got one of those, it holds my spare ignition key to the bottom of my van where no one knows about it...

  2. @Bernard Fishtrousers until now:confused:

  3. What? You have actual metal on the underside of a vw???

  4. As a little test, I attatched it to the 50kilo dumbbell in the gym..... It lifted it with ease! In fact, I could only get it off the bigger by kicking it!!

  6. Instead of kicking it and hurting yourself, just have a look at those YouTube clips to learn the techniques and the handling. and as said you will need to keep that magnet out of harms way, not near anything electrical or credit cards or pc or your brain or heart and anyone with a heart pacemaker. I think you get the idea.

Have fun with it and let us know what you find.

  7. The big magnet on the ancient PLA bucket dredger working the Thames often used to pick up interesting stuff of the explosive variety.

When I lived in Bemonsey sarf London in the 70/80s people in our block used to put a strong magnet on the lecky meter to stop the wheel, not us obviously

  10. Supermarkets don't build custom trolleys for themselves, the majority are bought from Marsanz in Madrid, although that will doubtless all change now Britain is Great again.

Majority yes ...but iam certain it's a waitrose prototype ...shame i can't see the wheels proper on this rig ;)

  12. Wrong. Waitrose trollies are hand-built by bearded artisans in Shoreditch.

  14. Whichever models I get, this thing will fish em out, no worries! I can't get out to have a go till Sunday at the earliest, but will give it a go! I'm hoping to ride my bike down to Epping forest, and have a scrape in some random ponds and an old river I know....I'm hoping for some blades and shooters :0)

Make sure you don't put it in a sock to avoid the tell tale damage to the side of said electricity meter.

Doubt that it'll work with Stainless Steel.
    But you're probably after gold...;)

  17. After 2 odd hours you get a load of metal crap worth ...... nothing. Why the hell would you bother..but then again when i was a kid we used a fire grate and rope and fished out some lambretta leg shelds out of a pond without a magnet.. your best bet is a wishing well haha
