Ralph was there in my day - pompous little man. Left in 74 after sixth form. Mr Shmiff got me through A level Maths. I think I missed out on Anne Harmsworth though. Trying to remember teachers names.... Mr Marsden - woodwork. Mrs Bridges - geography. Mr Hardy - art. Mr Lederer was Deputy Head.
Hope this is the right place for this strickly not TLB. Be interesting to know how many of the other conversions still exist in comparison to the VW version.
Those were the ones I remember too. And Mr Bowley for biology, Mr Green, 'Phil', for English, Mr Russell (swoon) for physics. Mr West for sport. Mr Eldridge the other English teacher asked me out, the paedo. I had a blast there I have to say. Still keep up with the guys n gals from my year. Took the van to stay over after one reunion last March and nearly woke up dead, I was so cold.
Wow - £1310 for a DL microbus - just 2 years later I bought my first house for £4500 - that house is now selling for around £150k - so at that rate in today's prices the microbus would be valued at around £50k!!
My kids wouldn't ask what an LP cost, more likely to ask "what's an LP Dad?" Think my first LP was Slade, think it was for Christmas so not sure of cost. Do remember my first single was Deep Down by Status Quo and it cost 33p I think.
