Wiring diagram including fogs

  1. Has anyone seen/got a late Bay wiring diagram that includes the circuit track for fog lights?

I've checked the ones on The Samba and Vintage Bus, but neither show the fog lights - presumably, Americans didn't want them :))

Does the Haynes manual show them?

I've seen the hand-drawn one with a new wire from the battery through a whopping 20a fuse, but that one didn't appear to be tied into the lighting circuit - and as the 1978 owner's handbook (at least) shows the fog lights on fuse 7, there must be a proper diagram somewhere, mustn't there?

Funny, isn't it, I've always preferred the old-fashioned diagrams with images that look like the item (i.e., a headlight that looks like a headlight) rather than the more electrickery version that just shows a switch with a key to look at in the index.

  2. If i were you, I would hook it into the sidelight fuse via a switch... 8amp fuse is enough

What Paul said but take it from the circuit that has just the one rear light fused and not the rest of the circuit.

VW had a wonderful safety idea of having the rear lights run on 2 circuits. Genius really.

  5. Do you refer to front fog lights, rear fog lights or both?

  6.
  7. Both, rear and front ones.

L20 rear one with Black/Purple all the way back and front L22/L23 starts with Black/Purple and ends with Yellow 2.5.

Have you seen this one Nigel under your original post?

I am still waiting from some members in here, that have an original unit installed, to confirm the colors.
