wire wheel on grinder for removing rust

  1. Grinders without the guard on them - plain stupid!! o_O

  2. Something I have always thought about too is the tassles on the top of your hoodies/jumpers dangling down and getting caught - luckily I haven't learnt the hard way but did give it a thought when I was wire brushing the other day! I think Mr B thinks I enjoy doing it  There always seems to be something that needs doing! :)

You say that, but having had my finger sucked in between a 2mm grinding disc and the guard I never fit one now. First thing I do with a new grinder is discard the guard.

It keeps you on you toes and since then I've never suffered more that a scratch from a glancing blow. I'm not recommending this for all, but for me it makes sense and also another plus is you can get into more restricted spaces without the guard, but it was the incident that made me abandon it. I can still hear the grinder slowing down as it chewed my finger...

  4. Well you're not supposed to wave your fingers round near the whirly bits!!
