..window seals

Hi all
As my bay is nearly ready to b primed Im starting to think about buying parts I need to finish it.. To b honest Im a little bit confused now as I really got not clue where to buy window seals from.. Need all around for deluxe and looking for best quality.. Perhabs someone could recommend something? I ve started my resto over 3 years ago and something could have change since in quality they offer out there.. Anyway thanks for any sugestions

I got all of mine from Status VW a while ago, and they've been fine.

I got mine from Custom and commercial and they fit ok, but probably heritage and alike do the same ones mine were VeWib ones

 

C&C thirded

Plus as yours is a fish with deluxe all round, not many places stock them... failing C&C, you could try wolfsburg west in the states and just import them... It's what I was thinking of doing for mine 8)

I will try C&C then.. I read about some issues with deliveries from status so I dont think I will take my chance with them.. Anyway cheers for advice and Happy New Year to you all

 

I just fitted a bundle kit from heritage and they were as good as any I have fitted

 

i have a few from heritage & a much better fit than others I have bought.

You'll always get a good selection of opinions if you ask a "where should I buy" question.
Do you want deluxe window seals?
If yes do you want proper aluminium inserts for them or will plastic do you?
You need to be more specific. eg if you do want deluxe seals which your sliverfish would have had, and you want the pukka ali inserts, VW Heritage don't atually sell them. AFAIK the only company that do are Custom and Commercial.

Well.. I know you're right.. Its good to have few options tho as I remember time ago there was none only rubber crapy stuff.. I was trying to fit one of those on my cabby ones and that was a real challenge.. Anyway i obviously relise the metal inserts r best option but little bit costly and my bay wasfitted from factory with plastic ones.. I know you got what you pay for but was wondering if those plastic inserts they offer out there and seals them selfs r still that bad quality and not worth a go.. The price is a factor im affraid on my budget resto and i dont want to be killed by my missus when spent over 300 quid just for window seals..

 

Fairy nuff - I didn't realise the later bays came with plastic inserts - every day's a school day.
