Hi all, Just wondered if an exhaust similar to this would fit on my standard 1600 T3 engine? I think it is meant for a beetle
The 4 into 1 bit will fit although you may have to jump on it and heave it to fit behind the moustache bar at the back of the engine. And then it will try to pop out of the clamps just above the moustache bar which really gets in the way of those clamps. Buy the VWH better quality clamps as these are easier to fit as the bolts are longer and thinner so they dont foul on the "wire wool" used to seal the joint. Otherwise expect frustration. For the tail section you need the twin quiet pack type with the parallel silencer boxes or the tail pipes will be well under the body of the bus if you used that beetle silencer. The silencer with parallel boxes is what I have on my 1600 TP. A bit louder than stock and a bit more power than stock.
Thanks for the replies...... Paul it is a Type 3 (I found this out buy discovering the "bolt on" dipstick) not a T25. mikedjames - Good advice there, don't really want a hidden exhaust!
