  2. I ticked 4 options on the poll. Only one was a lie I think. :)

No degrees for me, though I did do job that required 2 of them for 20 years. Ya boo to the suckers that wasted 6 years of their lives getting qualifications nobody ever asks about. :D

  5. I got kicked out of university - I was doing a BSC(Econ) in Development Studies - basically third world social and economic development - it sounded interesting but the course turned out to be a hotbed of screaming socialists so I decided to devote my time at uni to other pleasures.

  14. I left school at 16 with 4 O levels (and I suffered the embarrassment of having to go back after I left to resit my maths..).

Then as an adult started to enjoy learning and got a bit carried away with a BTEC, a couple of GCSEs an A level, an access course, a BA (social policy & sociology) then an MA (research methods). Fell to pieces about 3 months into a PhD and left. And the only jobs I seem to be able to do now because of my experience are admin jobs and it's all very frustrating. At least I'm not earning enough to have to be paying back my student loan.

  16. and a A level in environmental science. Which working with 4 year old children is no use at all.
My best one is Computer Language And Information Technology CLAIT before the ECDL. Been a total waste off time but to top it off i did the english version and did it in French too and i can't even speak a word off French.

  17. I'd forgotten RYA stuff. I probably put more effort into my humble RYA Day Skipper than I did into my degree :)...

Where's @fritt ? He must have loads of nautical stuff.

  18. Emmanual Kant was a real *******ant, who was very rarely stable...

  19. I'm local so yes I did. That said Bangor is in a nice area if you/she like the outdoors, the city itself isn't world class but it's got most things students need and its peaceful enough (so safe). The uni is spread out over quite a big area so halls can be a fair walk if you get the wrong one but there are loads to choose from and I'm sure the department will advise. I think the uni academically is quite good, certainly in the top 20 and some departments are right up with the best such as the psychology department which is the best in the UK.

I can only compare really between the Physics department in in Liverpool and the as was Informatics department at Bangor, both leading departments so nothing to compare academically but Liverpool had a more diverse night life if that's a requirement

  20. Bloody hell there's some clever buggers on here (or big fibbers).
I'd go back to school if it wasn't for the restraining order and having to sign that register. ;)
