Hi All Just fitting a new sender unit but it feels like the float is hitting something inside the tank when i twist it. Should it go in with the float to the right as i look towards the front of the bus from the back as in the image? The old one came out that way Cheers Chris
Float is drivers side See this . Cheap sender problem i had. Might be a good idea to check if it leaks in thewhite bit in the middle .before you close it up . These senders aren't sealed so well ....so dony fill the tank if you can help it ..when your done. Or do what i did, cut the hole . Cover windows with paper so the flying bits dont stick to glass, cut three sides and slice the other count the ribs . And cut on the low valley . http://thelatebay.com/index.php?thr...ping-through-top-quality-sender-solved.52284/
I'd say it should go to the left, there is probably a baffle round the outlet which is to the right and that would be what it's hitting!
Yes thats correct. .. The float goes to the left side of bus as you stand behind the bus facing foward . Instructions are as follows : You put your right hand in, You put your right hand out, You put your right hand in, And you shake it all about, You do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around That what it's all about. ,!
Lol Put it in and out Did the hokey pokey Now the flipping fuel gauge isn't budging What's that all about Tested before installing and was working ok but slow now nothing :-(
Remove the nuts holding the fuel guage wires to the guage .in the dash Clean all contacts with sandpaper. . Put the key on when you put it back together and see if it moves . Remove the wires to the positive of the coil . So you dont burn anything out . Its a fiddly affair that job . Theres a small screw in the guage . It will most likely need adjusting , turn to right for more reading ..
. Cheap Sh't. Senders . Play with the wires . Soray it with some electric cleaner or wd40 Did you change your fuel lines in there ! It the motor out etc.?
No havnt changed anything PO cut an access hole in the top so justbtook the old one out that way Cheers
Are the wires on right ? Dark one is ground . . I have to go out . So maybe someone else can pick up this thread right now for you . Cheers. Dont ever fill the tank if you dont know the condition of your rubber in the tank area!! Youve been WARNED !
I'm having problems putting the sender in, if you have not got the fuel gauge working yet I can help with that bit... I did an A3 on how to fix the fuel gauge..do a search for fuel gauge and my user name Wonty as the author..you'll pick it up that way..currently on phone so struggling with a link...sorry
Hi all thanks for your input. So after following dubsurftones advice of putting my right hand in, out and shaking it all about. I started to adjust the vibrator at the back of the gauge and this seemed to work a little but I had a spare one, so installed that and and Ta-da working fine!!!! So did the hokey pokey and turned myself around to celebrate !! CHEERS Off to the lakes this weekend. First big trip hope the weather holds out !!!
Me again !!!! Thought I had done the gauge but on the way to the lakes the gauge didn't move off just over half way and then during the week moved to empty, back to 1/4 full and then no reading at all. Any thoughts/ advice much appreciated
my float was on the left mines a rhd bud as long as the electric soleniods are facing out towards the back of the bus so you can connect it back up.
Hi Brucieboy mines a RHD as well all seemed to work fine but testing it now and can't get s reading on the gauge, re- tested the sender and that's ok Stumped!!
