I bought a fuel sender off the ejay ,,30 euro . I ,filled the tank and it seeping through the top where the wires connect . Not around the seal. , unacceptable . The smell .the danger etc . I some ways im happy i had to cut it , becuase if i put it in there with the motor out. And then had to guess where the smell was , and cut the hole with gas . Around it . You get the point . Every hose from the filler to the engine is new ,,,, Any one have some luck with a sender thats been proven . Brand name ...? Heres my cut by the way . Just in case you need refernce one for your job ..
Top job, why oh why do people normally cut 3 sides like you have, but leave one across the corrugations to bend, making a mangled mess? Idiots!
Ahh right it's a car parts shop in the UK didn't have a package for the sender when I got mine sorry that's all I know

I bought one of one of the top suppliers that leaked and got from from GSF , no brand name on it , but it didn't leak , send it back for a replacement, it's obviously faulty.
I made two into one . By using the vw top and the bits from the new one , which are identical The wafer plate had to be trimed a micro hair . Now i have the top vw , and the bottom rebuilt .
I could build a bus with my eyes closed now ... But i was blinder than a bat about vw,s when i took this project on . I suggest if you buy a new one to do this. The closing of the tank area with these cheap senders is a bad thing ,,, Especially if your thinking .."great its all new no worries ." And you dont make the cut in the back to check it ,,,,,
