You're a sick man in need of help. Perhaps you're too isolated out there.

I want to know how a teen would even know what it was, eldest unmarried certainly didn't know what one was when she lived at home. ;)

At this point I should trot out my Dyson story. :p
Many years ago I was a window and door "engineer" (ha-ha). I went to a small unit near Bath somewhere to mend a door closer and inside was Mr Dyson, seemingly doing sod all, with drawings spread out on a table. I'm a nosey get, so I asked him what he did in his unit. I'm going to revolutionise vacuum cleaners said he and told me all about vortex's and showed me drawings of the shape of his patented vortex making thingy. He told me he'd sold 4, or 6 to BA to clean out concordes fuel tanks and was hoping to sell a few more while he worked on the house version. Obviously with hindsight I should have said "gis a job".

Henry for me - light, sucky, and the cord winder thing is very good. :)

  12. Thankfully, there's an extensive network of fully accredited engineers across the country who will diagnose your problem and effect the necessary repairs at a fraction of the cost of renewal....
(I used to be a copy writer you know;))

  13.
  14. Wow @Zed...if only? Just think, you could be standing in a workshop, mindlessly assembling cheap plastic components for pin money.
Every credit to Mr. D though....he's come up with all manner of great designs...he reinvented the wheel

  15. Why am I watching a video on the comparative merits of one vacuum suction head compared with another?

  16. Fortunately, our Miele doesn't have much use for "problem diagnosis" ;)

I do take my hat off to Mr D, tho'. His folk have come up with some clever stuff and they are world-class in image-making and marketing. For cleaning the house, I'll stick with the German stuff.

  17. You're not as sad as the bloke who does vacuum-cleaner reviews to put on YouTube. Has he no life?

  18. have you seen the dyson tap thing ,it costs thousands...

what will he come up with next ,colonic irrigation as you do you weekly shop...:hattip:
