Love to but again the driving/camping ratio is wrong. Wherever we go I try to ensure that we spend more time actually there, than we do getting there and back.

I would LOVE to but I've looked at the ferry times and we'd need to take sandwiches.

it's how I get all my help. I promise all sorts of 'special' favours and as soon as I've got what I want I'm off

  8. We went to Silverdale in the summer, it's in Carnforth, the site was called Holgates. It's really lovely and not too far from all the main places to visit in the Lakes, Windermere etc ;)

Cheers Daisy, it's looking like the lakes or the Forest of Dean at the moment. Or Whitby, but we did go there in March and camped in Robin Hoods Bay but I do like the coast there.

Presumably Mrs Weeding, but that's just between Mr & Mrs Weeding and none of our business.

I hadn't thought about virgins, vestal or otherwise, but it would certainly be a plus as far as I'm concerned. So if you know of such a place I'll need shops nearby to keep the missus busy while I'm busy with the virgins.

Failing that we're looking for somewhere for views and walks really with a few nice pubs to rest our weary bones. Wouldn't mind a castle or two or perhaps a horse racing circuit. A coal mine to visit or underground caves to explore. I'm into photography so viewpoints or picturesque villages beautiful parts of the countryside, they all look good in winter and can produce the best photo's if the weather is right.

Wow I didn't realise Kent had coal mines, I'd always imagined it to be where all the hops and apples came from
