where does the type 4 exhaust heat shield go?

Sorry everyone, probably a bit of a dumb question but my type 4 engine'd bay came witha heat shield - in the boot!
So, was going to give it a coat of paint & fit it on as it's quite solid, but where does it fit - could anyone post a piccie up to point me in the right direction?

It screws to the tinware above the exhaust

The side facing you is the bottom, there is a hole (captive nut) in the curved pulley/fan tin, that goes to the centre cut out... the 2 upstandy tabs pick up on the other tin screws



Beware there is more than 1 type of heat shield (T2, 914, 411/412)

 

it wont fit - give it to me .....

 

so do I have to remove the exhaust to fit it?

 

I'd try taking out the top tins first

 

Pretty certain it won't go on unless either the engine is out/ lower or the exhaust is off

 

Thats why mine is still not fitted. Waiting till I next take the engine out.

thanks peeps - will whip the exhaust off and have a look as that only takes a couple of mins - if its an engine out job will leave it be!

 

I took mine out with exhaust on and engine in. All the rear Tins have to come out and plastic part at to of oil filler off. Then wiggled it out

 

All these people with a heatshiel and I canny get one!

 

Just happen to have a pic of one in situ!

 

I was quite happy not even knowing that such a thing as a heat sheild existed.

But now I do know thet exist - and I haven't got one.

Want one!
