  1. Whats the furthest you have driven in a day in your bus. A lad at work was asking me and i generally only do easily under 100 miles.

  2. Oxford to the Lake District. Only one stop too.

  3. last year i drove from sunny cleethorpes to haverfordwest in south wales and that was around 340 miles and only took 11hours with two stops lol

Cambridge to Cornwall or Cambridge to Disneyland Paris. That's about my limit. Not sure how many miles that is but it's all day behind the wheel and 3 stops for petrol.

Nearly forgot, did Vende region of France back to Calais in one go, that was longer than Disney I think.

  5. drove for 5 hours straight over wrynose and hard knott pass in lakes on my first ever trip out in the pitch black :'( worst ever trip in the van...

  6. The day we bought Hattie, we drove her 200 miles home from Burnham-on-Sea to Sheffield. We had the car with us as well so kept swapping over from the freezing gales blowing through the gaps round the doors on a January day, to the comfy modern car with seat heaters, radio etc! We had to swap vehicles every hour, so neither of us froze to death!!
Apart from that, most of our trips have been a maximum of 100 - 110 miles in a day so far. I think once we've sorted out the heating and draft problems and maybe got some more comfortable seats, we'll hopefully be able to go further in a day.

Limerick to Dublin last year I think - about 130 miles. Generally I think of 100 miles as a reasonable daily distance.
Coming up to Disco_kegs land in June so that will be a bit further

  9. The day I picked up my van - 365 miles Brighton to Carlisle. I had been advised that the (recently installed) engine would need a service after around 500 miles. I didn't realise until I got home that the engine had been installed only 60 miles ago! Had to stop 3 times for fuel - given that the fuel gauge doesn't work and I really didn't fancy a yellow taxi!

  11. We drove from hull to Newquay in the day, this was done 2 days after completing the restoration.
So I had to run in the rebuilt engine all the way there. 50mph and no more.

We did similar on the way to France. 50 on the fist leg, 60 on the next, 65/70 next and then spanked it from Dover to home and touched 85 for the last few miles. By the time we got back it was ready for new oil and filter :D
