whats in your engine

I just started to strip my engine for rebuild, it came with the camper as not working so had a look in side and
And theres nothing in there the rods and cam are missing ha ha
looks like i will be asking if people have any rods and push rods going

 

I've got those bits in mine

 

Any idea why its not working then?

 

What oil is in there?

Yeah didn't you know that was VWs special light weight engine.

 

That crank journal doesn't look great either. I'd be suspicious in the circumstances that maybe the case is also u/s.

yes, the engine still some how ran and made it's own way to the garage to get fixed

 

This one too, though you had to feather the throttle and it was rough!

 

I was thinking the same... some heavy corrosion in it!!

 

Is that the special low compression engine designed to run on any grade of fuel??

 

It's the latest Eco friendly engine, it don't produce any nasty gases, just petrol in and nothing out.

 

I bet it,s quiet, no knocking or annoying rattles.

 

I found rusty mud in mine

 

I'm no expert but I feel a new set of rings in there may be required
