I've just remembered this from being on holiday last year ??? A pub that we had used twice in two days was on the main street opposite a chip shop in a quiet little town up in the dales, whilst walking around the town on the saturday afternoon we decided to have some chips, so I went into the pub again to order two pints, two halves and three kids pops, I came out with the drinks and we all started to eat our chips on the pubs benches outside on the side of the main street, immediately the barman came out and told us to leave in a abrupt way ??? why i asked ??? you can't eat your chips there, i said we're drinking your beer, he was'nt having it and said leave now, what would you have done, we'd probably spent over £50 in there over the two days

Told him I wanted to see the manager and refused to move until I had.
If I'd finished my chips and beer before the manager turned up I would have left, never to return. If the manager was there I would have asked where the sign was that said I couldn't eat chips there.
Untimately, if they sell food they have a point but there's no need for him to be rude.

I can understand they've gotta have rules but we were also customers who'd spent money there

  8. Was this in Derbyshire (miserable gits) or Yorkshire (toite gits) they makes their money from visitors but they dont really want em there eh! Lakes used to be like that too until they had foot and mouth and noone went!

  9. Bad customer reviews spread faster than good ones. He could be doing himself out of business by doing that. VW community is very big don't ya know!

  10. i would told him to *****ing do one ;)

you ought to do a trip adviser review Neale, see what he says then ;)

  13. If the chippy was not far away you can bet they've had people sit out the front eating before by non paying "customers". expect the barman was told not to let it happen again. So maybe this time was over kill, but only to stop him having his arse chewed by his boss again.

  14. Not saying he was right. As he was in the wrong, you weren't doing any harm. And spending money in there.

  15. i would have said "lets take this away from the kids" taken him out of sight for a discussion on the matter, making sure to argue for an ample amount of time whilst the wife and kids enjoy their meals and pop.

then grab your beer and chips and be off, taking the time to wave in the 2 finger manor as you drive away.

  19. I went to stay in a holiday house in a small yorkshire village that only had a pub and ten houses. It was me and Mrs M, the in laws and the Mabellette (aged 5). We walked down and as soon as we went in, we were told no children. The thing is, there was no one else in there and it was 7.30pm so unlikely to have anyone. Despite my protestations we had to leave and drive to the next village for a drink.

  20. Could you not have sat outside the chip shop with a crate of beer from the cornershop giving him the V,s
