  1. My roof is leaking very badly but don't know what kind it is, I have looked and it looks like a 'devon' but don't want to buy all new seals for the wrong roof!

  8. Have a look on the website mentioned above and check what your internals are it could be a devon or a danbury

you need to do a water test with a hose to check where and what is leaking.

Oh and think about using clear silicon when fixing everything in - it helps - if you rerivit it put a dob of silicon in the hole and on the rivit it will give you a little extra sealing protection.

  9. Ok roof is sorted now, made a new cap for the entire top rather than covering up small holes, although We did this with light material the overall weight added now means the pop top wont stay up!! Has anybody had this before?

Its an early pre Moonraker Devon roof to be specific, JK do a roof cap and they have uprated struts that may cure your problem

  12. Somebody I've spoken to mentioned about using vinyl wrap over the capping part of the roof. When mines back on ill be looking into that for sure. :)

  13. Well the foamex has vinyl and laminate on it I think it's the 10 tubes of silicone that's made it too heavy

  15. mine looks identical from the pic................. however, mine isnt flat, it has a 'ribbed' strengthened top rather than the flat one with rivits that leak

so is this yet another Devon variation ? any ideas ? (my bus is a 72 build/73 registered)................It wasnt leaking when I took it off BTW ;D

  17. Diddymen, does your roof go right to the back of the van but not right to the front?

  18. no mate, from the ground it looks identical to the pics in the first post by 12345 :headscratch2:

I always thought mine was a standard Devon and that they were all like this, but I'm now staring to wonder :headscratch2:
...........but some one else said they had not seen one line mine before

  20. possible I suppose, it doesnt appear to be a cap though :headscratch2:

I'll have another look when it comes back from the paint shop
