the bus is in for its 1000 mile service today with the new engine .. although im a couple of 100 miles over it .. should be fine : .. then its getting packed ready for a trip to the lakes for the weekend

 

I have finally emptied the toilet following camperjam.
Still smelt of bubblegum - does anyone else use that particularly sweet smelling runny blue bog stuff?

 

Fitted new n/side front brake wheel cylinders after some interesting brake slammage on the M6.
Found my beetle silencer was too far gone to use so ordered a new one - I can't wait to try out Malcs trumpets. Seriously boy-racer. 8)

 

nowt it started rainig again as i got home from work...

New points, reset timing and adjusted carb idle settings. No longer stalls at junctions now

 

Walked past it thinking I should really clean the mud up from inside the van

 

just going out to fit the front lights with new bulbs

 

I pick Percy up tomorrow after having a new battery tray and rear quartery bit grafted on. Now I dont have to worry about losing my battery.

Watched all the little rust spots starting to pop up through the paint work Never believe what a PO says about paint prep carried out

 

I nearly drove it in the river. I'm sick and tired of the steering. My mate, a pro-mechanic, can't suss it out either. Everything's now been changed twice. I mean, everything, part from the idler pin which has just been changed once. Maybe it wasn't put in right? I'm just totally fed up right now.

Today, I've spoken to 2 more 'experts' within 20 miles of my place, both who claim they'll be able to fix it. Yeah right.

 

I know how you feel, My steerings a bit knackered too, very very floaty! I bought a brand new steering box for it but haven't fitted it yet, hopefully that sorts it out but you never know with these buses.

 

At my 1st opportunity, ie once my welding is finished, i will be fitting a red9 beam. I had a boating holiday in Norfolk this year and the boats steering was better than Percy's.

 

so now it runs for 5 seconds and stops few things to recheck in a minute

These boys are phat! It sounds like a Lancaster bomber and doesn't splutter at low revs anymore.
