9mm chipboard with a plastic wood effect finish donated by the spray shop on top of steel, Hammerite and P38, then Flotex kitchen carpet/vinyl stuck on top.

    Hybrid of too-cheap and too-expensive.

One day I will weld the floor where the rain made a hole in it coming through the poptop and running out the offside rear jacking point. And then fit better flooring under the Flotex.

The previous chipboard was soggyand smelly when I pulled it out in handfuls.

  7. Got the floor sorted today, two layers of the foil backed foam type laminate flooring underlay / insulation, 12mm marine ply with a few screws to take the bounce out then on with the wood effect vinyl flooring fixed using spray floor glue...

    The finished article...

  8. I've filled the lower part of the floor with ply, could I just lay foam and laminate on top do you think? :)

  9. Hi lardy , can't see any problem with that mate . As long as you have a deep enough trim for the sliding door finish ? . I'm a floor layer by trade and i did mine with foil backed insulation and quickstep 4v laminate and works great ! good luck mate 8)

  10. Cheers FP, just figured flooring is usually fairly strong so and if the lower part of the floor is filled to stop bowing then it should be ok. Will give it a go. Cheers :)

  11. I used a length of silver aluminium carpet edging strip to edge my 12mm play and lino floor against the sliding door
