they are bragging , im very choosey

 

Yeah, nearly had the automatic fire extinguisher working on its maiden voyage. First run out since fuel lines fully checked when extinguisher fitted. Not good at all. Travelling there the bus was bouncing a bit and was checked out and put down to cracked vacuum pipes. After AA man sorted the fuel pipe, no bounce. Long story but in the end all's worked out ok.

 

did someone else fit it ?

 

My friendly mechanic checked the fuel lines and also put the bounce down to vacuum pipes being old and letting in excess air to the FI mix. Going to be a meaningful chat on Monday I feel.
It is the same area of pipe I got replaced last year by a different mechanic after it started squirting fuel onto the engine due to perishing. Don't know if it's a design weakness, crap mechanic checks or just plan unlucky.

 

FI yes they should be checked .

 

We're home in one piece and that is what is important.
Made me trump a bit on opening the engine lid and seeing the fuel evaporating like smoke off the engine. Very close to ignition.

Phew! You was lucky. Hope it's a cheap easy fix.

 

Looked like a jubilee clip had come loose. Pipe was a year old. Could have been very expensive and emotional .

 

Way before i had a VW van,if i ever saw one broke down,we would always drive past really slowly with the windows down and point and laugh.
