Westfalia Table leg for late bay Berlin Helsinki Just campers do them for £60 was hoping for a little less - not fussed if non original as I'll need to make the table/bracket http://www.justkampers.com/westfalia-pivot-table-leg-vw-t2.html Thanks in advance ps tried bendng a bit of pipe and keeps bending
Cheeky sods! If you can get me dimensions, I can make you one out of 20mm mild steel conduit. I have the conduit and the bender there only. Chuck us a tenner including postage and I'll sort it when I get home from offshore. I take it it's just a bent tube with a socket for the table to sit in? The socket may have to be 20mm as well so you'd need a pin around 16/17mm to fit in the tube. If thats any good you can pay me once you get it. I'll need the dimensions and where you'd like the bend. You'll have to give it a lick of paint thats all.
That would be great DUBious kindly sorted me out with the bracket. http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/jacking-point-table-leg-support-£40-delivered.6204/ But I've got a Devon so will have to improvise the rest .. but a table next to my cooker should be ace. see 2nd post lord congi http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/devon-moonraker-appretiation-thread.20699/page-2 Many thanks I'll measure up ASAP.
measured up... height 28" arm 15" outside diam of tube is 35mm (1-2 mm thick) .. this fits nicely into DUBious's bracket. As I dont have a table reckon it should look like this with the bit under the table (ie the arm) flattened http://www.gowesty.com/ec_view_details.php?id=23717&category_id=142&category_parent_id=
As I dont have a westie and will have to cut off/adapt the end bit thought £60 (+whatever the postage will be) for a bit of tubing was a bit steep. If I had a pipe bender i'd be laughing ... but I am tight
Heres a possible solution that gives you the option of using a standard later Devon table, without changing the table bracket and also gives another interior table option. The wagenwurks table leg is possibly slightly larger diameter than the westy one (about 38mm) but is similar and uses standard table leg and bracket parts. What is the maximum diameter the outside bracket will take? link: http://www.vanwurks.co.uk/cranked-table-leg-kit-deluxe.html#.UZVeAsq93hk
this kit is £85 but if you did do this and didnt need the two mounting brackets I may buy them off you. I have this mounted behind the passenger seat. It will swing outside the bus but is high. If it fits in your jacking point bracket its all good.9if a little pricey)
As I said dude, I only have 20mm conduit here so it would be a bit thin maybe. I can still sort it for you but it wouldn't be 35mm!
Jacking point bracket - maximum 36mm and 20mm a little thin ... Back to the drawing board/down to the dump or JK's Many thanks anyway Dicky and exuptoy
How much are you looking at paying for the westy leg as I will look out for one. Do you need the table base as well?
Got the bracketand dont think i want the base as will be bulky Aiming to adapt the top of my devon cooker see below, hence my reluctance to pay alot for a leg ie dont need an original, just a bit of tubing (35mm thick) that i can somehow attach to my cooker top like one of these http://www.gowesty.com/ec_view_details.php?id=23717&category_id=142&category_parent_id= so say ~ £20
Update.. Found a bit of metal in a skip - bit of jiggery and da da! Very useful with the devon swing out cooker
