hy all, newish to late bay,always looking for parts ,advice, well i have a 73 bay and i need some welding doing , nothing too drastic,, i hope ,but i am struggling to get someone local to me, been to a couple of places and they dont seem interested tbh, i cant do it myself , recent injuries,prevent that, but willing to take it to a decent knowledgeable vw welder can anyone help please or point me in the direction of someone that can help. thanks gedd oh i am in sunny blackpool
Sorry I don't know anywhere near you as I'm a southern poof. My bay has just been welded and I would advice you to look at Autocraft panels. I had to send a load of panels back from some places as they were terrible quality
thanks for reply mate, i have been busy buying panels got them from schofields ,decent quality, autocraft are very good as well, better than them klokkencrap ones lol , cheers
A few on here use 81a in Southport but from what can gather you'll be lucky to get it started for some time! What exactly does it need?
hy paul , i have tried a few places,local to me, but people that can weld vw buses, are few and far between, mines not a total rotbox either,. i have been to a few local garages , and they didnt impress me, tbh , dont want it bodging,( could do that myself lol) so still searching. FLAKEY, i have been to 81a ,they do a good job,got it prov booked for june july, but ,there always chocca full,,it needs inner and outer sills, , (which i have now) couple jacking points, battery tray,and around front window ,under windscreen rubbers, for now lol, starting to strip inside out, give me summat to do lol cheers
Mines at 81a at the moment his work is good but as flakey says he's busy ,you really need to go and see him and talk to him about a date in the future maybe next winter
yeh i did go speak with him, john, he said hes working to get the yard a bit smaller, before he takes owt on, ,, dont know about next winter lol i am an impatient sod, cant wait that long,lol think i seen yours at his shop , doing a good job,
