  1. got a new weder for xmas and finally got round to firing it up yesterday......yay. (sealy supermig 150)
have not welded anything in probably 15 years and welds looked fine on 5mm thick plate and not too many holes in 1mm plate. need less power and feed ? more pratice.
just running co2 because it was free and a large bottle aswell but the 'gas' pipe kept blowing off the welder and then the regulater started to ice up so i took it was that, that was blowing pipe off.
    any ideas.........
not welding anything on the buss untill i've practised loads more

  2. Regulator icing? How high have you got the flow set?

If you've not got one, then get a regulator that has a flow meter and a bottle volume gauges on it!!! :)

  3. It wants to be flowing at "silent fart" rate rather than "pumping up the tyres" speed. :)

  4. at present just using the regulator that came with the welder, (basic) no flow rate or volume. praticing outside the garage because the battery on the bus is dead so just had to turn it up a bit more, on full power if stop start too many times it would also trip garage off.

  5. I've got co2:and was told that it is prone to icing in cold weather weather
