During the course of last year I considered buying a industrial flame thrower from the army surplus store. The downside of this was the neighbours newly laid plastic lawn and our wooden window plinth. They don't do a domestic version at the range unless you could adapt a plumbers blow torch.
I want a good weedkiller that I can single out the offending blighters and leave the nice smelling ones with pretty leaves and stuff undamaged. ( flowers and shrubs I call them) and I want the non flowers and shrubs to suffer -- real bad! It's raining a lot this winter over here. better than snow, better then frost, but not so good as that good old two day wonder- sunshine.
If you find a good weed killer I'd be interested to know. Trying to get rid of bamboo. It's all chopped down and has had several lots of weed killer on. But the bugger still keeps sprouting
Well don" the local boy scout troupe do bob a job round your(well healed) area then dude?>>>i"d do it for some of yer very fit Cider !
Oh Oh - I know this I know this.....I can recommend a giant Panda. It's a double whammy, no bamboo and ticking the box for ecology.....
I think alot of modern weedkillers are designed to break down harmlessly after they kill plants, thats the problem, any seeds already there or land shortly after will still sprout. The old fashioned stuff to use is sodium chrlorate, it hangs about in the soil longer, though with all the rain were having that might not be that long.
You have to let it grow before you spray it, to be sure it has enough foliage to absorb and carry the herbicide to the roots. You must also get either Roundup for trees & shrubs or buy the concentrate and follow the instructions, mixing it twice as strong as you would for weeds. Then you have look all around to be sure there are no little runners hiding under a rock or behind a fence waiting to move in and multiply again. Personally, I would also probably find myself placing an ad for free bamboo. Seriously. Some people want it pretty badly and they pay a lot for it in nurseries. When they arrive to pick it up, hand them a shovel and a plastic bag.
