I'm looking for some advice on the position and fixing of the standard washer bottle. I am in the process of trying to put together my 76 model, 77 registered LHD Late Bay. It was bought as a project and is certainly making me think that maybe that idea was not the best idea I have ever had. What I am trying to do is make sure all the bits that I got with the bus go together before I get stuck into the welding bit. My water bottle problem is that I have the bottle, the air valve tubing, the tubing to the steering column wiper switch and the tubing to the washer nozzles but can't see how the bottle is attached. The first pic is the bottle propped against the bulkhead, the second is a close up of the bottle with a chunk of cut of metal attached and the third is a dash switch that might be for electric washers. My fourth pic is of some kind of electrical device but I have no idea what it is for or what might be missing. What it is would be appreciated. If anyone could give me some advice without taking the p**s too much then that would be super.
in the first photo there is a bracket with a half round slot cut in in, close to the heater totem vent - one end of the water bottle slots in there, the bracket end on the bottle itself, to the right of the lip on the cab floor, near the piller you will see two threaded holes, the screws for the bottle fix in there
and i recognize the thing with the white bezel but can't remember what is it....is it not a broken pull switch? Maybe not. As Keith said, trace the wires and say what colour they are...
Is that right... I was going down the ceramic route...thinking it was something that gets hot and switches off as a result...heated screen?
I've had a look and I think I can see where the bottle goes. The silver bezel 'hole' has one thick black wire that looks like it goes into the most right side fuse on the dash. My switches are all a bit loose, do they unscrew from the front?
the light switches have a funny slotted thing, undo that towards the seats & the switch goes t'other way
two brackets for washer bottle, one's on the bottle, the other one should be vertical, it's been bent on your pic.
Awe...and we were just getting started.... It's a 12v socket for the uber-rare Wesfalia Pig De-hairer
Apparently there was a recall on them after they realised the trajectory wasn't correct for the turret top. Once the front hinged roof was developed, there wasn't much call for them. Here you can see Chief Engineer Otto von Sheitmeister testing the prototype on the streets of London. Note the lack of additional landing equipment.
