Wanted: Rear Silencer for Type 4 with cat USA

Do you have the upper or lower type of system? The smaller pucs in the right hand side

 

my cali van had a cat on j-tubes when i got it - only on one of them and when i removed the j's the cat was empty..... i also bought one of the multi piece exhausts like you're listing above with a cat welded inline, that was the same.... i don't think they actually did anything! i'm running with no cat and no egr valve and it's fine, there's no lambda sensor on mine and it's march 78 from california.

If you have the top one which does not have triangular flanges on the best exchangers then I would get this type:

That doesn't look like it would fit though, or would i have to remove the full exhaust and heat exchangers for this to fit and work?

 

That fits onto your heat exchangers, do a PIC and then i can tell for definite what you have

Ive just been outside and had a good look at the system and it looks like i need the full exhaust system, I'm certain the heat exchangers are good though , this is going to cost me a lot of money aint it? or is there a way of doing it different and cheapish and keep the usa heat exchangers?

this is the one i,ve got
if you need a full replacement and this one dont work , i,ve the silencer box and you could get the rest made up
i believe theres a place in barton and a place in louth that do them

do you have the silencer that goes to the cat? if so how much do you want for it ? wheres the place in Barton ?

Well it depends what type of output flange you have, triangle or non triangle

 

Pkrboo, I will remove the exhaust tomorrow and take some better pics and i can see what i exactly need

Right, keep what you have as it looks like it is in good condition, get a standard silencer and a cat replacement pipe.
