Thank you so much, it's gorgeous but sadly neither my husband and I like driving left hand drives. Thank you so much for posting though, it really is stunning!
I do like a Dormobile roof. This though? "Recently completed 2000miles- trip 2 weeks ago around Devon/ Cornwall and Barmouth." 2000 miles? They all look good in the photos and it does doesn't it? Needs an experienced eye over it for sure at that price. Could be fabby, could be problems waiting for a full wallet to empty.
I keep finding myself trawling ebay/facebook for projects and the dormobile roofs do stand out. Must resist: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203540207069?hash=item2f63f115dd:g:-fgAAOSwl5BhAv32
I can see the attraction... for you who still enjoys the restoration process. The type-4 engine crow barred into the early engine compartment though..not for me.
I wasn't quoting you old bean. Different bus - follow James Ley's link. That bit on the right bolted onto the fan housing - I fear that's an engine mount.
Thanks @Poptop2, funnily enough a VW garage we're in contact with sent us this link to look at, it's certainly well below our budget but I can't quite see how the full width bed works with the different levels? Does the seat section raise up to meet the cushion on top of the left hand unit?
Looking at the underneath picture there seems to be quite a lot of welding on the left hand side (Mr S. has noticed that I only look at the interiors and paint colour ) and the price seems too good to be true, I can understand that they need a quick sale for the house move, but we've looked at similar that have been asking around £19K plus. We'll probably kick ourselves if it turns out to be a bargain.
That bus in Malc’s link in on Instagram and if you look through their posts, they have quite a few photos of the restoration work carried out.
i am friends with the guy selling this bus. I can assure you he’s not “dodgy” but at the same time I’ve never seen the bus, so I can’t twll you about the condition.. but I can guarantee he’s a good guy… if it’s something you’d be interested in it’s worth a look.
Thank you so much @Bobreoc and I apologise if I made it sound as though I didn't trust the seller. It's just that we are completely new to the VW T2 world and don't feel we have the experience to assess how much work, if any, is required.
Oh that would be most helpful, but I'm unsure who Malc is (I'm hiding in shame here, sorry Malc) do you know his instagram address please?
