Paul, Junior Tennis means very little theres alot of talent you should know that!
Theres a small amount of people that do get funding and there alot more that don't if you find anyone to hand you money over they want alot more in return Golden handcuff's thing. If i sold the van it wouldn't even cover a year in an academy. I believe he has a chance and as a Dad i will see it through regardless of out-come and how stupid i look.

Van most likely sell its a love-hate thing my wife don't do camping=undecided

  4. Crossroads, maybe.
Clueless, I don't think you are. You already know what it is that you want to do & if you truly believe your son can go all the way then you will need to sit down & formulate a plan. Your son's tennis coaches will talk about setting goals to acheive results..... Well it's the same with what you want to acheive. If you want to take the leap & actually go to Oz for the benefit of your son's tennis career then make a plan, STICK to it & set realistic goals to help you acheive this.
    You can thank me later!

  6. Thing is not many famous tennis players have made it from oz ,in fact closer to home a Scottish lad has gone all the way...;)

I would have thought America is the place to go for Tennis...:hattip:

  16. Had me life-coach hat on, oh & @Geordie write out your plan (that you WILL stick to) so you don't forget & tick off the goals that you have acheived so you can see your progress & gain confidence from that.......
    ........ Good luck! :)

  17. Dear Sweeney. I've got an unpleasant personal rash. What should I do about it? Confused, Hampshire.

  18. Gah! Go to the doctor, man! He will probably prescribe some cream to apply depending on the severity but will definitely need to pop a finger up yer bum just to make sure........hope the treatment is a pleasant exprience

  19. My friends son was Signed to City when he was 6 years old. looking back they regret doing it the lad 16 now and off there books
i know so many that have tried and failed.

  20. What about the successful ones? I had cause to witness first hand a weedy Manchester lad with big hair on the books at Blackpool, he went on to play for Man City, QPR when they were decent & England, He's on telly quite a lot now - he scored THE best overhead kick of all time virtually from the halfway line...... His name, you ask........ Trevor Sinclair. Not naturally gifted but he worked hard & got his reward if you ask me (a lot on here are about to differ). If you have to travel, take your time & choose wisely but also try & get some professional advice
