I have some Flotex carpet on top of thinnish laminate coated MDF sheet. Waterproof and washable. Doesnt show oil and dirt as it looks like the pattern... And its quite warm under foot in bare feet.
I will take some tomorrow. I looked at one picture I have and the carpet is muddy. I will put that one and a clean picture up..
We found that vinyl was a bit cold on bare feet in the winter so I had a play with some carpet tiles. I started off with two different colours and cut each tile into four to make them a better size for a van. Then I cut and inlaid kangaroo shapes to keep up our Australian theme. This is just finished And this is furnished
Just found a couple of pictures of the floor in progress. Cutting them down to size Cutting and insetting the kangaroo shapes from the other colour of carpet.

Yes but only when we had torrential rain on holiday and the roof leaked. It dried out ok and we tend to have an old blanket over it when we're camping in the winter because of our wet muddy Labrador.

I've helped installed wood floors before in a house, and I did Laminate (Wish I had just done wood instead) in my basement, and upstairs. Had a minor flood in the basement and pulled up the distroyed laminate, and replaced it with tile. So I do have some flooring expertise. Wanted something that's durable, and able to get wet, and looks nice (late '70's look, but clean looking). Ease of install is not really a big deal. I run my amp wires up under the floor so I would need something I can pull up, and put down relatively easy.
When I put the new floor in my bus I used some ply that I rescued from the scrap pile at work, 6mm bottom followed by a 9mm topper and then went to my local carpet man and asked about any offcuts of vinyl he may have lying around. I picked up some industrial lino for a bargain £15 that has steel woven/moulded in to it which is non slip and very tough ( it was nearly impossible to cut through the bloody stuff) it also is a very close match to the original colour of the og stuff. It stands up to the kids and the Mrs spilling stuff really well and has smartened the back up no end.
That's a very clean looking floor! Can you give a little more info. on the brand, and type of material it is? Very interested... You said it was card to cut, what did you end up using to cut it with? Any ideas as to what my be the best tool to use to cut it with?
I have a '00 M5, I have a '14 Audi A4 S-line, I almost bought a 2012 Maserati GranTurismo S last year (we had a baby) but priorities to over...lol! My point is I have been blessed to be able to purchase really nice cars if I want to. I prefer my bus, I ride a bicycle, and use public transportation. Don't get me wrong, on the weekends, when time permits, there is nothing like backing the M5 out of the garage, wiping it down, and opening her up on the streets of Washington DC, and abroad. However, I tend to either drive my Bus, or my '79 KZ1000! Yes, they are old. Yes, sometimes they don't work. Yes, I dump more money into them than they are worth, but they are worth it to me! I love them! And I will keep them until my son is old enough to work on them with me. No rush, no deadlines, no reason to sell. When I put my family in the bus, and we go to the country, or the beach, or to a car show, or outdoor event, it's the best thing ever! Aircooled Love! Now, let's see more examples of your floors!
