You can get better than a kwik-fit fitter it seems...
Even if they weren't sure, I'd have thought it was pretty obvious that you want the front wheel measurements to match!

  3. Does anyone know what the geometry settings should be? Or does it differ for ever vehicle?

  7. Check out Camber and Tracking settings. Used these on my '76 and now it drives straight.

  10. Ok. Thanks for all your help. The only place that I've found locally that can help is ProTyre, so I'll be taking it there on Monday. Hopefully they can sort it for me.

    I'll keep you posted. :)

  15. .... must say I didn't have a great result at ProTyre in Bristol. I found a small place called FCM near Netham Lock in Bristol. One of those small places that deals with kit cars but also does all the steering geometry for Franks VW shop - who specialise in T2's.

The young chap Lee at FCM really knows his stuff - best £35 spent on the bus.

Oh - and as many have said - the settings on the data sheet I posted are certainly the same for all late bays.

  16. When my bus is back im going to use a local company who build, modify and repair as well as rolling road tune rally cars

If those guys cant get my camber and tracking right then theres no hope

Its £60 an hour but they said it wont take an hour and as they havent done dub bus before they will knock me £10 off

So £50 for my bus set up exactly to spec should actually save me money on excessive tyre wear and underpants

If im totally honest when i put my suspension back together i just alingned the slots on the camber collers straight ahead and my bus has been stable enough on some pretty twisty country roads at speed
I have however replaced every component on the front beam that could wear including the dampers

So many people spend money trying to get there bus to handle better but never think of fitting new dampers and i dont understand why?

Suspension dampers will be past optimum well before they fail an mot test

  17. especially with the new ones that are gas filled... no oil leaks from busted seals!!

  19. That sounds well dodgy!!

  20. On a standard landy at full suspension articulation the spring cannot leave its mounting cups so no problem there
The dampers failed so he removed the dampers and there was nothing defective present to fail hence the pass

When i was told about it i couldent belive it but i do live in rural yorkshire and people dont pamper there vehicles as much ive noticed
