Thing is with scrap retention, it will come as a big advantage if you say have a big expense scooby fitted ....and you had a front end bash writing it off , Ok you get your dosh, what with your agreed value and all that . But will you find a good scooby for sale easily ....i doubt it . There will be plenty of the others type 4 and 1600
When I phoned around a couple of years ago, I found a few of the more usual companies that folks talk about on here were unhappy about my camper living on my driveway rather than in a garage. I admit I'm not sure whether this is from a degradation viewpoint if it lives outside in the elements, or (more likely) from a security point of view. I do have one of those collapsable metal post thingies in the driveway and a wheel-clamp for when I'm not there, but most companies opted not to quote. I ended up with JK as they are happy to let me leave it on the drive, do 3000 miles a year, agree a value of £16K and give me my salvaged scrap back should disaster strike. I do look around every year though and ask all the same questions about storage just in case there's a better option out there.
Thats odd, they have never tried to renew mine! Perhaps they don't like me and don't want me to renew...
Carole Nash for me - £20k agreed value (!) and European cover. Have made a claim in the past and they were fine.
