  2. Hi David,

Finally got round round to fitting mine today - but I seem to have the lower mounting points in slightly higher position meaning the holes don't line up - any ideas? Do I need drill and fit some mounting points?

Under that wood paneling, you may find the hole.

My hole was slightly higher than the seat belt mount hole so I had to re drill the hole on the mount.

  4. Never seen that arrangement before. Never had a bus with the bracket or the hole. Just got the top seat belt mount in mine!!!

Never see That bottom mount bit, there needs to be an 8mm mount about half way between the 2, there are detailed pictures on the first page of this thread

  6. Cheers fellas - I guess some drilling is required. Looking at the lower bracket they may have welded on by a previous owner.

I suppose I could drill a new lower mounting point and put a revibolt in?

  7. Thanks David - going to put in a 8mm rivinut - can I just check it's just the top (existing mount) + an 8mm lower/mid way mount that's needed - ie no need for a 3rd point? I assume the 3rd lower hole is just for the reel to bolt onto? Cheers.

  10. I still haven't got around to fitting mine, I don't have a thread for the lower bolt, I've drilled the hole but not managed to fit a captive nut.
Is there anyway to get to the cavity of the panel. :)

  11. Use a rivinut - google fitting rivinuts - pretty straightforward.

  12. You can see the indentation in the headlining between the middle and back windows here (driver's side for a LHD):

Similar indentation on the slider side, naturally, although that's only useful for a full-width middle row.

Full inertial reel set up uses this bar:

With the reel inside the body cavity (so flipped 180 degrees to normal use) to allow the back seat to fit etc

Now, if I could just find the canyon brown headrests for my '79...

Now I suspect that warrants the title of uber rare seat belt mount!

  14. Ok so just an update I ended up using the same ones as rob.e ordered as the one I ordered only reeled out if I was to ancor it under my bed seat. There basically the same but work on a 90 deg angle. No good for this application.
Now there in they look great I'll get some pics of these up soon.

I also had to buy a rivnut gun and set as I didn't have the lower fixing hole. This was easy to do once I had the right parts

  15. I think what someone's done is welded a Securon belt mounting bracket to the side panel. I suspect your original M8 hole is actually the one on the left that's been bunged up!

@davidoft If you're having more of these made, can I suggest you make the M8 hole on the bracket slotted (which they might have been on the originals)? Sometimes top and bottom holes aren't perfectly aligned (weren't on mine).

I can have the holes elongated but it adds to the cost, upto now most have fitted straight in so I figured it wasn't worth the extra cost overall
