  1. hello need help what size tyres would you all put on 15ins wheels . its going to be lowered so any ideas was thinking 205 50 15s would this work

  2. Not sure if you can get van rated tyres in that size dude

  3. I guess it depends on the ET of your wheels. I've got my bus lowered on adjusters and 1 spline at the back but due to having empi's I can't put anything much bigger than 185,65,15's on( my side walls on the rear are almost touching the inner arch).
I've now got some steels so I'm looking to go bigger on those.

  4. the wheels are 15in by 5.5ins wide and the et14 is that any help and i will be lowing it with a weedeater beam . so also looking at the side wall

  5. 205s will be too wide for a 5.5in rim...

I've got 205s on my van, but the rims are 16x7...

Everyone seems to get hung up on van rated tires o_O but as long as they're mpv rated they'll be fine!! Something along the lines of a 92..

  6. would 195 45 15 go on my bus need answer asap

  7. They will go by I think the profile is way too skinny. Harsh ride and the rolling radius compared to stock is too small

  8. People get "hung up" on van rated tyres because it's a van!! "C" rated tyres are specified in the owner's handbook.

But that assumes an even weight distribution across the van. I bet with the engine hanging out behind the rear wheels, along with a lot of heavy furniture in the back of a camper, that these things are not 50/50 weight distribution. Dividing the kerbside weight between the 4 wheels might be fine for when the van is static, but weight shifts around through acceleration, braking and cornering, so one tyre will be subjected to more than 1/4 of the van's total weight at different times.

  9. i dont have any of that in my van all i have is a bed and that will be it and its a panel van aswell

  10. To try and improve cross wind handling I've gone for 195/70/15 van rated tyres on my EMPI's. These just clear the arches.

  11. The owner handbook was written in the 70s when tire specifications weren't as varied as they are now!! There wasn't really a vast array of cars like there is now, hence my reference to the tire weight rating chart... So back in the 70s it would've been car, van, or lorry tires...

Also correct, but do you know the kerb weight of your van...?

Like I said, 92s should be sufficient, as that would give you a total kerb weight of around 2400kg.... if your van comes in at more than 2.4 ton fully laden, then you need to look at how much stuff you're taking camping... ;)
