A couple of years ago I managed to buy a new one for one side (JK?). The other side was unobtanium, so best quality used off ebay iirc

Powder coated not sprays. I’d say they are pretty mint considering.

Came off a CJ engine.

 

Very nice condition Ray, but... someone has snipped the rear end off them for some reason.

 

funny, comparing the pictures they look almost the same, but can see mine look shorter. i wonder why they would do that?

 

A mystery, there's a couple of inches missing.

 

Zed, I have a pair still attached to a 2l engine. It’s been kept outdoors under a tarp so they may not be in the best condition - I won’t really know until I get the engine out and try to remove them.

We’re packing the van at the moment for a trip away so if you get no joy over the next week or so then give me a shout.

 

Thanks Sydney - I've put my old ones back for now, but I'll probably still be looking. If I wire brushed mine to paint I can see they'd turn into teabags.

 

Is it worth a coat of fibreglass’s or is that too mutch of a bodge?

 

Too much of a bodge. It would just crack and fall off with heat cycles anyway.

 

Did your engine builder do it ? He kept coming up short on promises

 

You can buy them new from bus-ok.nl if you don't mind spending 63 Euros ea. search engine/tinware.

 

Pretty sure they only have one of them.
