Well, that looks fine. In the pic, you can see a little circular dip in the top edge front pulley face - that's TDC. The next mark around - the one you've got lined up with the crankcase split - will be 7.5*. Should be about 12mm around to the right from the centre of the dip.
Excellent, I believe that's the mark I static timed it, I will check it and then wait for a friendly expert to give me a proper lesson at the weekend before I do any
