Fades it into the shuts, you can do the same trick with masking tape, but no - the tit came too far out into the shuts with the cream colour. It looked better with the door seals in.

    Another pukka door seal -

That's sitting where it was restored. It's 1" from fence on the other side. Not much room to swing the lump hammer...

I know you like pictures. I do. :)

  4. I fitted the new sliding door seal yesterday, same problem! very difficult to push hinge in to shut and the seal holds the door out slightly at the bottom, hopefully this will compressandbecome easier? also the seal has one edge with a wider flap of rubber i put this to the rear (hinge edge) correct? thanks .

Yep - flaps face forward, big one at the back.
Sliding doow seals don't compress so well at the rear - there's only one catch point at the back and the door tends to bend a bit.

You have to be really careful when renovating to ensure all your door seal channels are clear and door shuts don't have build up of weld anywhere - I'm thinking top rear corner of wheel arch for instance. I spend days - yes days! scraping built up layers of evostick/paint/evostick/paint from the channels sometimes. Painful, but better than not being able to shut the doors fully.

  6. Thanks Zed, hopefully it will ease before i hand it back!

  7. I put a new offside door seal on my van last year, and was worried out the door shutting but i also used a GSF seal and it went in great and the door shut ok too. Must be something to be said for cheap and cheerful. Mind i have purchased a few things from them and have had not problems so far. :)
